Abstract

Zusammenfassung Hans Dietrich Genscher, der ehemalige Bundesaußenminister, ist dafür bekannt gewesen, daß er viel reiste. Bei all seinen Reisen zu Außenministerkollegen machte Genscher eine interessante Erfahrung. Jeder seiner Kollegen hatte eine riesige Weltkarte an der Wand hinter dem Schreibtisch. Außenminister sind ja Kosmopoliten, aber jeder hatte seine spezifische Perspektive, seinen regionalen Blick in die Welt. Dieser Perspektive entsprach auch die jeweilige Weltkarte, in deren Mitte natürlich immer genau das Land war, in dem Genscher gerade zu Besuch war. War er in der UdSSR, war die UdSSR in der Mitte, war er in den USA, waren diese im „Zentrum der Welt“.
