Abstract

Modern networks are currently undergoing significant changes and have to deal with rapidly changing requirements. Especially with an alternate working behavior of users it is necessary to adjust the network services and management. This requires more sophisticated traffic engineering. This paper reviews the current state of the art and shows the application of new strategies to a mid-size German university. Practical needs and theoretical concepts are brought together to develop a modern network management infrastructure.
