Abstract

Depuis la fin des années 70 un grand nombre de travaux ont été consacrés aux espaces fonctionnels hom(BG,-) dont la source est le classifiant d’un groupe de Lie compact G (par exemple un groupe fini). Rappelons la terminologie : l’espace fonctionnel hom(X, Y) est l’espace des applications d’un espace X dans un espace Y. Les motivations originales étaient les conjectures de Segal et Sullivan. La conjecture de Segal concernait l’espace fonctionnel hom(BG, QS0), G désignant un groupe fini et QS0 la limite directe des espaces de lacets Ω n S n . Un cas particulier de la conjecture de Sullivan, celui traité en premier par H. R. Miller [Mi], concernait les espaces fonctionnels hom(Bℤ/p), Y) avec Y un CW-complexe fini.
