Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die Anzahl der älteren PFAFF-Biographien ist ziemlich groß: 1825 [Gartz 1, Gartz 2], 1845 [Pfaff/Gartz], 1853 ([Pfaff, Carl 1], 1–35), 1887 [Cantor], 1938 [Kowalewski]; die jüngste pfaff-Biographie veröffentlichte 1974 Hans Wussing. Dies ist für mich der Anlaß, ihm weitere Bausteine für eine zukünftige Pfaff-Biographie zum Geburtstag zu widmen. Es ist nicht meine Absicht, eine Biographie zu präsentieren, sondern es sollen die Bereiche intensiv ausgeleuchtet werden, für die neue Quellen, gedruckte wie ungedruckte, herangezogen werden konnten. Die Kapitel sind einzelnen Themenkreisen gewidmet, die im großen und ganzen chronologisch geordnet wurden; zeitliche und inhaltliche Überschneidungen waren aber unvermeidlich.
