Abstract

Zusammenfassung Am 15. März 1933 reicht Gentzen bei den Mathematischen Annalen seine Arbeit ein: „Über das Verhältnis zwischen intuitionistischer und klassischer Arithmetik“. Nach Angabe von Szabo (1969) zog er den Aufsatz in der Korrekturphase zurück, weil Gödels Arbeit von 1932 bekannt wurde.1 Godei und Gentzen haben unabhängig voneinander gezeigt, daß die Widerspruchsfreiheit der intuitionistischen Arithmetik die Widerspruchsfreiheit der axiomatischen Zahlentheorie nach sich zieht.
