Abstract

Zusammenfassung Ich schildere die Kindheit und Jugend von Gentzen, um die Frage zu beantworten, was und wie es ihn zur Mathematik geführt hat. Wahrnehmung, Erfahrung und Wissen wird nicht sozial konstruiert, aber durch Motive, Gründe, Interessen, Entscheidungen oder Familien- oder Machtkonstellationen wesentlich konturiert. Man sieht nur, was man weiß, man erkennt nur, was sich durch gelernte Begriffe und Formeln ausdrücken läßt. Bevor man erfindet, entdeckt man. Wie funktioniert das: In welcher Form prägt Erziehung? Auf was wird man von den Eltern „gestoßen“, wohin werden Aufmerksamkeiten gelenkt? Welche Bücher fallen dem Kind in die Hände und was lernt es daraus?
