Abstract

Zusammenfassung In unserem Buch vergleichen wir Entwicklungen zu Beginn und gegen Ende des 20. Jahrhunderts. Während es heute viele Berufsmöglichkeiten für Mathematik studierende Frauen und Männer gibt, konzentrierten sich diese in den ersten Jahrzehnten des 20. Jahrhunderts auf eine Lehrtätigkeit im höheren Schuldienst. Noch im Studienjahr 1930/31 gaben 90% der Mathematik-Studierenden an den Universitäten wie auch an den Technischen Hochschulen in Deutschland an, dass sie Studienrat bzw. Studienrätin im höheren Schuldienst werden wollten [Böttcher et al. 1994, S. 52]. Während heute Frauen formal denselben Zugang zum Beruf haben, mussten sie sich diesen Weg um 1900 erst erstreiten.
