Abstract

Zusammenfassung Bei der Verwendung eines beliebigen mathematischen Modells stellt sich die Frage, ob es legitim ist, die mathematischen Aussagen über das Verhalten des Modells auf die Realität anzuwenden. Setzt man nämlich einmal voraus, daß eine Aussage sehr empfindlich auf kleinste Änderungen im Modell reagiert, so führt in diesem Fall eine beliebig kleine Änderung (beispielsweise eine kleine Änderung des Vektorfeldes, durch das eine Differentialgleichung bestimmt wird) zu einem Modell mit völlig anderen Eigenschaften. Es ist gefährlich, Aussagen dieser Art auf den untersuchten realen Prozeß auszudehnen, da bei der Konstruktion des Modells immer eine gewisse Idealisierung vorgenommen wird, die Parameter nur näherungsweise bestimmt werden usw. So entsteht das Problem der Auswahl solcher Eigenschaften des Modells des Prozesses, die gegenüber geringen Änderungen des Modells nicht empfindlich sind und die folglich als Eigenschaften des realen Prozesses aufgefaßt werden können.
