Abstract

The advancement of entrepreneurship in Africa has not received much attention among scholars, typically because the majority of SMEs operate in the informal sector. Despite this, the literature on SMEs shows that they frequently and easily fail, are subject to government seizures, and encounter limited access to cash and raw materials (Amankwah-Amoah et al., 2018). This comprehensive volume, entitled “Entrepreneurship and Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Africa: The Realities of Post-COVID-19 Era,” offers an in-depth exploration of the evolving entrepreneurial landscape across the African continent. The book is structured to provide a balanced viewpoint, with historical context, current challenges, success stories, and policy implications. Its educational features make it a valuable resource for academic institutions, business schools, and training programs seeking to educate future entrepreneurs and business leaders. Ultimately, this book project aims to satisfy the need for up-to-date, contextually rich information that can inform policy decisions, inspire entrepreneurial endeavors, and contribute to the sustainable growth of SMEs in Africa, fostering economic development and resilience in the face of global challenges like COVID-19.
