Abstract

CleanDIRECT M, a Moroccan affiliate of a worldwide hygiene group, faced a protracted and somewhat fragmented procurement procedure, characterized by redundant approvals, accompanied by scattered documentation and poor visibility over supplier performance. Nonetheless, the process was simplified to 12 steps instead of the initial 23, owing to the team that led a lean-based diagnostic approach, including value stream mapping and root-cause analysis. Standardized templates were introduced, approval pathways were optimized, and Python scripts were used to automate quotation retrieval, along with a live dashboard, which was implemented to track on-time and in-full deliveries. Within six months, CleanDIRECT M managed to reduce lead times by one third, improve compliance to 96%, and significantly decrease transaction costs.
