Abstract

Batman is central to our text. It is reasonable at this point to wonder why we have attached our reasoning to him. The answer to this question will emerge as the text progresses, but if, like us, you are interested in change, Batman is the right choice. He himself, his opponents but also the city of Gotham are changing. A common objection is that Batman does not exist and has never existed, that is true but the stories/narrative exist and have something to tell us. If the stories had nothing to tell us, we would say it was a bad movie. The Batman movies are good movies.
