Abstract

As we previously mentioned, crowdfunding is a part of FinTech, which represents a newly developing sector of finance. Token issues and their connection to crowdfunding are the focus of this chapter. Tokens represent an important part of fintech and they have a lot of common features with crowdfunding. Similar to the crowdfunding methods studied previously, tokens are a modern way of raising funds from a large number of investors (crowd) for a new project/start-up business. In a sense, token issues represent an advanced form of crowdfunding as we will discuss in this chapter.
