Abstract

In the current context, characterized by the acceleration of the transition to a digital and green economy, the cumulative impact of economic, health and geopolitical crises and the need to strengthen social cohesion, analysing European economic sustainability through the lens of Sustainable Development Goal 8 (SDG8) is a methodological and strategic priority. This goal integrates essential dimensions of development—sustainable economic growth, quality employment, and the promotion of innovation—providing an analytical framework through which to assess the performance of EU Member States in achieving a balance between competitiveness, social equity and environmental protection.
