Abstract

Zusammenfassung Jörg Thomaier, Leiter des Bereichs Geistiges Eigentum bei einem globalen Blue-Chip-Unternehmen, teilt seine Ansichten darüber, wie ein Start-up sein geistiges Eigentum (IP) schützen, strategisch ein Portfolio aufbauen und bestimmte Fehler vermeiden sollte. Das Kapitel basiert auf umfangreicher eigener Erfahrung bei der Prüfung von Start-ups im Rahmen von Investitionsvorbereitungen, Kooperationen oder Übernahmen solcher Unternehmen. Zudem gibt er Investoren Einblicke und Empfehlungen, worauf sie bei einem Start-up und dessen Management achten und was sie erwarten sollten, wenn sie sich auf eine Finanzierung und Investition vorbereiten. Einige Hinweise für Lizenzgeber, insbesondere Universitäten und andere öffentlich finanzierte Einrichtungen, sind ebenfalls enthalten. Das Kapitel ist eine wertvolle Lektüre für alle, die Einblicke und Ratschläge von einem führenden IP-Experten erhalten möchten.
