Abstract

The financial markets are often perceived as barometers of economic sentiment, dynamically responding to news and events. One of the most insightful tools to capture this response is the event study methodology. Since its emergence in the late 1960s, event studies have evolved into a cornerstone of empirical research in finance and corporate finance, helping researchers and practitioners alike to assess how specific events influence firm value, investor perception, and market behavior.
