Abstract

Zusammenfassung Banken, die als Schnittstelle zwischen Sparern, Investoren und Kreditnehmern fungieren, sind für die Wirtschaft von großer Bedeutung. Sie vergeben Kredite und ermöglichen so private sowie unternehmerische Investitionen und Wachstum. Die meisten Menschen, die ein Haus oder eine Wohnung kaufen, benötigen einen Kredit. Auch die meisten Unternehmen können größere Investitionen nur mithilfe von Krediten realisieren. Die Kreditvergabe und die damit verbundenen Risikobewertungen gehören zu den zentralen Aufgaben des Bankgeschäfts. Gelder von Sparern, Investoren und von Zentralbanken werden der Wirtschaft zur Verfügung gestellt. Daher ist es wichtig, dass die Bank ausreichend Mittel von der Zentralbank, von anderen Geschäftsbanken und von Sparern aufnehmen kann und dass diese Versorgung nicht unterbrochen wird – wie es in Krisenzeiten vorkommen kann.
