Abstract

Asia’s rapid economic development offers critical insights into the future of business amidst growing global complexity. The “Asian Tigers”—Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, and Singapore—exhibited high economic growth rates and achieved remarkable growth through industrialisation and export-driven strategies from the 1960s onwards, laying a foundation for economic dynamism. More recently, the “Asian Cubs”—Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam—replicated similar economic performances to the economic performances of Asian Tigers have emerged as engines of growth, following in the Tigers’ footsteps but with unique adaptations. This systematic review explores how corporate foresight, public–private partnerships, and sustainability initiatives in these economies contribute to structural transformation and resilience. While successes offer replicable lessons, challenges such as inequality, climate change, and technological disruption demand adaptive policy models. By synthesising Asia’s symbiotic government-industry frameworks, this analysis provides a reference for managing 21st-century complexities and balancing economic and social welfare.
