Abstract

The chapter concludes by recalling the explored objectives in this book, which explores the evolving landscape of climate risks in the banking sector, examining the topic from academic, regulatory, and practical perspectives. Indeed, it highlights how climate-related risks are reshaping financial systems and driving innovation in risk management and regulation. While underlining the need for a multidisciplinary approach, the manuscript also discusses the challenges and limitations of current methodologies, such as data constraints and regulatory fragmentation. Future research directions could include refining climate risk modelling, understanding systemic implications, and exploring the intersection of climate risks with digitalisation and geopolitics. Finally, it argues for a collaborative approach to integrating climate considerations into banking operations for a sustainable financial future.
