Abstract

This chapter looks at the development and impact of AI technologies on developments from 2022. The spread of AI has been characterized by increasing integration into business processes, with organizations moving from trial to active implementation. A key development has been the emergence of open-source AI solutions, which have made the solutions accessible to a broader user base. The discussion highlights a decisive shift toward smaller, more efficient language models as an alternative to resource-intensive larger models. This trend addresses concerns about energy consumption and accessibility while potentially democratizing AI development. The text emphasizes that a successful AI transformation requires a comprehensive approach incorporating organizational processes, human resources, and workplace culture changes. The chapter examines the critical role of workplace interaction in successfully implementing AI and emphasizes the importance of close relationships between managers and operators. It discusses integrating technologies like IoT, blockchain, and CC to drive digital transformation across all industries. The analysis concludes that organizations’ technological advancement and operator well-being, meaning that future success, depend on effectively managing technological innovation and human factors in the workplace. This synthesis reveals a complex interplay between technological capabilities, organizational adaptation, and human factors in the ongoing evolution of AI implementation.
