Abstract

The Israeli-Palestinian conflict has long been discussed throughout the literature. This may be even more applicable to the Oslo peace process as a historical breakthrough in decades, if not centuries, of deep-rooted rivalry, with a focus on the historical, cultural, and political aspects. Nonetheless, though this chapter presents the course of events leading to the Oslo breakthrough, the focus offered here is through the lens of economic diplomacy while presenting the political-economy history of Israel-Palestine relations, from the time of occupation until the signing of the peace accord, 1967–1993.
