Don’t Blow the Whistle!

Abstract

The main official approach to whistleblowing is through laws and procedures to protect whistleblowers. However, the promised protection often doesn’t work, leaving workers vulnerable to reprisals. Furthermore, whistleblower protection seldom addresses the problems in the organization that led to disclosures. Workers would be better served by developing skills to address corruption and abuses, especially by anonymous whistleblowing, also known as leaking in the public interest.
