Abstract

Sustainability project management is a critical component of a firm's overall sustainability management strategy, as it involves implementing various green investments to achieve sustainability and ESG goals. This chapter focuses on sustainability projects for carbon management and explain how to effectively manage these projects. Sustainability projects encompass a wide range of thematic programs to produce environmentally friendly outcomes while utilizing minimum financial and natural resources. The purpose of sustainability project management is to yield maximum financial returns and contribute to environmental and climate protection. However, the performance of sustainability projects is often subject to uncertainty and volatility due to various factors such as political dynamics, government subsidies, and regulations in different jurisdictions, regions, and sectors. By incorporating carbon accounting methods, project managers can ensure that ecological and financial goals are integrated into every stage of the project.
