Qatar’s alignment with the Belt and Road Initiative is propelled by its aspirations to broaden its economic horizons, bolster its global standing, and its strategic alliance with China. This chapter will present a concise overview of the infrastructure undertakings unfolding in Qatar under the Belt and Road Initiative, meticulously exploring their significance for the country. These ambitious projects encompass the New Silk Road, the Digital Silk Road, and other strategic endeavors that strive to augment regional interconnectedness and foster economic integration. The discussion will revolve around the core objectives of these initiatives, encompassing the enhancement of transportation infrastructure, the facilitation of trade and investment, and the fortification of connectivity between Qatar and fellow Belt and Road participant nations. Furthermore, it will embark on an exploration of the potential advantages and challenges associated with Qatar’s active engagement in these ventures, delving into their potential ramifications on both regional and global governance structures.
