Abstract

Monetary policy has been employed to tackle inflation; fiscal policy has also been employed, which is also needed under the current extremely difficult times. As has become clear from our discussion in the previous six chapters, it is evidently the case that monetary policy is attributed too much dominance. Fiscal policy is also necessary, in proper coordination with monetary and financial stability policies; this policy coordination is needed to tackle properly all the relevant problems. Such coordination is crucial as argued in this contribution not just now but in the future as well. Such coordination could, and should, also produce significantly lower inequality, especially under current circumstances of high inflation and expected low growth in the three economies examined in this contribution.
