Abstract

Zusammenfassung Dieses Kapitel stellt zunächst die Adelsgeschichte der alteingesessenen Familie Zinzendorf dar sowie die Beziehung zwischen Ludwig Zinzendorf und Staatskanzler Wenzel Kaunitz. Anschließend wird aufgezeigt, wie Zinzendorf zu einem Protegé von Kaunitz wurde und 1750 als Wirtschaftsexperte in dessen Gesandtschaft nach Frankreich ging. Es wird auf Zinzendorfs Handelsreisen in der Bretagne und seine Einschätzung der französischen Handelsgesellschaft und Marine eingegangen. Das Kapitel befasst sich auch mit Zinzendorfs wichtigstem Werk während seines Aufenthalts in Frankreich, das er für Kaunitz und die habsburgischen Herrscher schrieb. Es ist eine vergleichende Darstellung der französischen und englischen Volkswirtschaften und Staatsfinanzen.
