Abstract

This chapter describes a team-based competency framework to undertake evaluations of innovations and new ways of working in health services. Six domains highlight competencies in communication, people management and relationship building to navigate real-world evaluation. The framework covers professional qualifications and experience, technical expertise and knowledge required. It addresses different forms of leadership and engagement with evaluation stakeholders as both participants and users of evaluation findings. The domains are structured to demonstrate competencies for simple and complex evaluations. This competency framework provides quality assurance of team skills needed to conduct evaluations to manage and ensure a credible evaluation with defendable findings.
