Abstract

Healthcare 5.0 symbolizes a significant advancement in the progression of healthcare services, resulting from the fusion of cutting-edge technologies within the context of Industry 5.0. This chapter offers a comprehensive analysis of Healthcare 5.0, exploring its origins in Industry 4.0 and outlining its vision for the future of medical care. It investigates the technological development that has facilitated this new era, concentrating on crucial enabling technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT), extended reality (XR), and edge computing. Through examining the various tiers of the Healthcare 5.0 framework, including patient interaction, clinical care, health information management, administrative support, and innovation integration, this chapter demonstrates how these technologies converge to offer sustainable, patient-focused, and efficient healthcare services. By delving into emerging cases such as telemedicine, remote patient monitoring, and tele-robotics, it emphasizes the practical implications of these advancements. Moreover, the chapter tackles crucial challenges such as security, data management, and ethical considerations. The chapter also explores the future directions and potential consequences of Healthcare 5.0, offering insights into how these technologies will shape the future of healthcare.
