Abstract

Zusammenfassung In diesem Kapitel diskutieren wir verschiedene Vorschläge zur Reform der Regierungspolitik und -prozesse. Die Motivation für die Reformen besteht darin, die in den vorherigen Kapiteln diskutierte Haushaltskrise zu lösen. Die Haushaltskrise ist das Hauptproblem, mit dem die Regierungen der Industrieländer im 21. Jahrhundert konfrontiert sind. Die Krise hängt mit den wichtigen wirtschaftlichen Phänomenen des Jahrhunderts zusammen, einschließlich der Alterung der Bevölkerung, der Verlangsamung des langfristigen Wirtschaftswachstums und der steigenden Lohnungleichheit. Unsere Diskussion konzentriert sich hauptsächlich auf die USA, aber der größte Teil der Diskussion gilt allgemein für die OECD-Länder.
