Abstract

Indonesia is the largest Muslim-majority nation in the world and the largest Southeast Asian country in terms of area, with a population of more than 270 million. Its economy is one of the fastest-growing emerging markets in the world, and it is the 7th largest economy in purchasing power parity terms and the 17th largest in current prices (Rajah, 2018). It accounts for just under 3 percent of global GDP and is classified as a middle-income country (Hamadeh et al., 2023 June 30). The country’s population is young, growing rapidly, and relatively well-educated, which bodes well for its economic growth potential. It is a prime example of a fast-growing emerging market.
