Abstract

The first and most foundational of Nature’s virtues is prudence because its proper business is for each individual to govern themselves, their health, fortuneFortune, rank, and reputation, the objects on which a person’s comfort and happiness in life principally depend. That business connects each to the community of others and each best helps themselves by helping others.
