Abstract

If the world does not shift to a more sustainable way of functioning or reduce the harm we are causing to the planet, then we will be unable to maintain the same quality of life or boast the functioning ecosystem that we have today. An increase in the number of landfills, rising species extinction, an increase in respiratory diseases, harsher weather, rising sea levels and lower quality of life are just some of the effects the world will face by failing to become more sustainable (Inspire, n.d.).
