Abstract

There is a tidal wave sweeping through every facet of Western culture, taking the form of a new, secular religion. Known as Wokeism, currently, it may only be a movement but is approaching the status of a religion. Mainly, it has appeared as an alternative to Christianity, which has presented some challenges to its classification (Zimmer in Wall Street Journal, April 17, 2017). It is not a Christian religion; nor does it represent a Judeo-Christian world view. Where it is practiced, it offers a different utopian vision of the future.
