Abstract

Zusammenfassung Die Reise von Kurt und Adele Gödel von Wien nach Princeton Anfang 1940 ist eine Saga für sich. Leider haben wir keine Berichte aus erster Hand. Beide waren zweifellos zu beschäftigt, um Aufzeichnungen zu notieren, und keiner von ihnen führte ein Tagebuch in systematischer Weise. Stempel in ihren Pässen geben einige Informationen darüber, wo sie waren und wann. Jahre später sprach Adele mit ihrer Freundin und Krankenschwester Elizabeth Glinka über die Reise, aber ihre einzigen Erinnerungen waren, dass sie Angst hatten (wahrscheinlich am Anfang, während sie noch im Reich waren), dass sie angehalten und zurückgeschickt werden könnten, und dass sie meistens nachts reisten (auch wahrscheinlich am Anfang).
