Abstract

Zusammenfassung Nachdem wir im vorherigen Kapitel Kurt Gödels gesundheitliche Probleme während seines gesamten Lebens untersucht haben, kehren wir nun zu unserer chronologischen Erzählung seines Lebens zurück und treffen ihn Anfang 1933 in Wien wieder, kurz nachdem er Privatdozent an der Wiener Universität geworden war. Mit seiner Lehrbefugnis in der Hand begann er sofort seinen ersten Vorlesungskurs mit dem Titel „Grundlagen der Mathematik“, einen Überblickskurs über die Fundamente der Mathematik, der von etwa 20 Studenten besucht wurde – eine große Zahl für eine so spezialisierte Vorlesung. Er hatte den Kurs zu spät angekündigt, um in den offiziellen Kurskatalog aufgenommen zu werden, und ein Zettel mit der verspäteten Ankündigung wurde in Exemplare dieses Bandes eingefügt.
