Hypergroups with a Small Number of Elements

Abstract

In this chapter,we pause developing the structure theory of hypergroups for a moment and turn to the study of hypergroups with a small number of elements. We consider hypergroups of cardinality 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6. Some intermediate results in Section 7.5 will be stated and proven in a more general context. They are about hypergroups H which contain a closed subset F with only a few elements in H \ F.
