Abstract

America’s three basic ideologies face the challenge of reframing their narratives and imagery to address Digital Revolution disruptions. In the previous chapter, I showed how using the perspectives associated with religious humanism can help construct policy narratives. In this chapter, I focus on policy strategies and actions. Using Bell’s framework, any policy change affects techno-economic, cultural, and political arrangements. Here I combine Bell’s framework with the “soulful model” to help frame the tradeoffs needed to implement a new policy. The case study I chose is a continuation of the debate on how to transition America from generating electricity using fossil fuels to clean renewables such as wind and solar. The first template is for domestic policy with the understanding that international spillovers occur. Later on in the chapter, I introduce a template that could apply to international relations with theocracies that control large oil reserves.
