Abstract

The theories of exogenous growth that prevailed in the first half of the twentieth century provided a fundamental understanding of countries’ growth process, establishing capital as the fundamental axis in this process. However, through literature analysis and empirical evidence, this chapter demonstrates that the fundamental factors in the growth process are technological progress, education, and specialization but fundamentally entrepreneurship. Countries with improvements in these indicators, such as Singapore, South Korea, Ireland, and Japan, have been able to achieve economic success.
