Abstract

Size is a characteristic that suggests how much impact a company can have on the economy; however, this characteristic is little explored in the literature, especially in Latin American and Caribbean countries. For this reason, in this chapter we seek to carry out an approximation of the size of companies through their sales and to estimate the effect of these companies on the economic growth in such regions. Results indicated that firm size has a positive and significant effect on GDP per capita; however, as a country’s economy approaches a steady state, the effect becomes less significant.
