Christian Libertarianism

Abstract

For as long as I can remember, I was a libertarian-leaning conservative who held his nose and voted Republican to keep those evil Democrats out of office. It was not until sometime around 1993 that I discovered Lew Rockwell and the Mises Institute, which led me to the writings of Murray Rothbard and the realization that I was in fact actually a libertarian and not a conservative. But before continuing on my libertarian journey, I had to determine whether libertarianism was compatible with my theologically conservative Christian faith. I concluded that not only is libertarianism compatible with the most strict, most theologically conservative, most biblically literal form of Christianity, it is demanded by it. My worldview and philosophy are therefore distinctively Christian libertarianism.
