Abstract

The concluding chapter highlights the importance of looking beyond formal organisations at everyday organising practices, to gain a better understanding of the integration phenomenon. The integration itself is far from “organised for good”; its meaning shifts over time and across different settings, with consequences for both the immigrants and the organisers. Therefore, researchers studying migration and integration issues must focus their studies on processes, and on their intended and unintended consequences.
