Abstract

This chapter is dedicated to systems of differential equations. We state and prove the existence and uniqueness theorem for the Cauchy problem in this case. Particular attention is paid to linear systems of differential equations and to the relation between a linear system of n equations and an n-th order linear equation. Autonomous systems are also studied, and, since first-order partial differential equations are closely related to autonomous systems, we present them in the last section of this chapter.
