Abstract

This chapter contains the basic theory in some areas of Linear Algebra, Calculus and Complex Analysis, necessary for a deep understanding of the material presented in the book. The first section contains elementary results on metric, normed, Banach and Hilbert spaces, while the second section provides a brief introduction to Complex Analysis, with a special focus on the calculus of residues.
