Abstract

Ability to compete may be analysed by means of: a) pertaining conditions (pillars of competitiveness: infrastructures, productive system, legal regulation, education, etc.); and b) the results achieved (in the form of sales, exports, employment, profitability, etc). These aspects are summarised in Fig. 24.1 where we can see that between 2010 and 2019 Catalonia drops from position 103 to 161.
