Abstract

Is the violence an accident or is it part and parcel of the separatist challenge? From the conceptual point of view, violence, physical force over things or people to commit a crime or impose a belief or act, is an inherent part of the nationalist and supremacist discourse of the Catalan separatists. It shows the power of the separatists, and it is, specifically, the only way of achieving their aims, which consist of the subjugation of the population and the secession of Catalonia.
