Abstract

Money laundering, a concept often associated with modern-day financial crimes, has deep historical roots that stretch back over two millennia. The history and development of money laundering show that it is not a new problem but a practice that has changed over time to fit new financial situations. It is important to understand the difficulties of current anti-money laundering efforts.
