Abstract

Gaidar’s economic reforms pushed many people working in the scientific and engineering spheres, including me, in fact a great many members of the intelligentsia generally, to the edge of a financial and moral catastrophe. It even came down to the question of physical survival: how to get enough to eat. And in my case this was taking place in my eighth decade, when I had expected my life to be finally settled and a fresh start out of the question!
