Abstract

This chapter is devoted to the preparation of implementation of the strategies. After the final assessment and approval of the strategic guidelines in Chap. 27 , this is mainly a matter of optimally preparing the implementation. After an introduction, the balanced scorecard is introduced in Sect. 28.2 as an essential tool for strategy implementation in the daily business. The practical use of the balanced scorecard is illustrated by an example of a home improvement store chain. Finally, a process for preparing the strategic implementation is proposed in Sect. 28.3. This process is concluded by communicating the strategy to the employees, other stakeholders, and the public. A case inset on Holcim illustrates how a new strategy can be successfully communicated internally and externally.
