Abstract

Electronic portfolios allow owners to accumulate and store their projects in different forms using computer and network technology. Since the 1980s, internet use in Thailand has grown to cover various functions, such as improving the Thai educational system at all levels. Thailand’s government has been fostering and promoting various technologies, such as the internet, to promote electronic learning (e-learning) enterprises in an effort to support the national education system and create a knowledge-based society. This chapter discusses whether e-learning and electronic portfolios are the future of creating a more educated society in Thailand during the Industry 4.0 revolution. Thus, this chapter intends to help comprehending the internet’s evolution in Thailand, weigh e-learning’s costs and benefits in Thailand, assess electronic portfolios’ (e-portfolios’) positive and negative characteristics as part of student-centred learning in Thailand and ascertain productive approaches to creating e-portfolios and predicting such portfolios’ prospects in Thailand’s higher education system.
