Abstract

In this chapter the different methods for the analysis of RCT data with one follow-up measurement are discussed. A comparison is made between the analysis of change scores, the analysis of relative change scores, and the analysis of covariance. In the latter an adjustment is made for the baseline value, which is needed to make a proper adjustment for regression to the mean. With the analysis of changes and the analysis of relative changes, this is not the case. It is, therefore, recommended to use analysis of covariance.
