Abstract

In these notes we give an introduction on the limits of tangents to a complex analytic surface. We first describe the case of hypersurfaces, using integral dependence on ideals and equisingularity controlled by Milnor number, and then we discuss the case of general surfaces of $${\mathbb C}^N$$ C N using Whitney equisingularity and equivalent criteria.
